I seem to keep saying this but I really enjoyed my time in Brunswick Germany, Memories of Brunswick Germany. I stayed right along the river and there was a “Buskers” Festival going on over the weekend. There were about 30 different acts that performed on 8-9 different stages throughout Old Town. All of them were excellent, presenting a huge variety of entertainment. There were, of course also food vendors and crafts. Also scattered all over Old Town Brunswick are Lots of fun interactive street art. It’s great the City embraces this. Old Town Brunswick is great with ½ Timber Houses everywhere, very picturesque. And then there is the Happy Rizzi House, which is out of place among the architecture but the whimsy of it, makes it a classic and a must see.
I highly recommend a Raft trip down the Oker River, there are several options to choose from but it is a relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
One of my favorite meals of the trip was at Schadt’s Brauerei, where they brew their own Beer. Take-Away is available in really large glass jugs. I had the Schnitzel and it was perfect, just what I wanted.
I also took the opportunity to visit Wolfenbüttel where the Jägermeister brewery is located. See full review here…
