Memories of Berlin Germany

August 1, 2017 By luvzog

I totally love Berlin and these are just some of my Memories of Berlin Germany. I flew from Venice to Berlin via RyanAir for 17.50€. The flight was delayed 50 min and I got stuck with a center seat 2nd to last row. But – boom boyfriend/girlfriend were split up asked if I wanted to move to 10a (window in front) yes please & thanks.

It was a rainy dreary day, but met a friend of mine from America, Shari for breakfast at the Grand Hyatt (um – yes please, huge spread with made to order eggs, fruit, meat, cheese, breads, cereal & mimosas). We had a nice visit and then she was off and I went in my direction. Still it was great to see her again.

Subway/tram/bus system is “on the honor system” – but the fines are high so don’t be a dick (I did see young couple being detained and fined. Trust me you don’t want to be there. This is the case all over Germany. Munich had the most check points, but still save yourself the embarrassment and fine, buy a ticket. I always recommend a “day pass” that way you can hop on and off as needed. Some days I just catch a tram and ride to the end, just to see what there is to see. Oh and Do Not expect the drivers to stop for you in a crosswalk – unless there is a light.

Berlin Cathedral

My Airbnb was one of the best on the trip. It was centrally located, with a very comfortable bed and the whole Flat to myself. I toured all around the City and really it’s best to just check out my “Visions of Berlin” to get a real feel for the City and what you may want to do.

Be sure to check out resident advisor for all the parties and happenings, which there are tons of. I ended up going to three parties while I was there and it was so worth it. Here is a write up on one of them. I also went to the Renate – House of Doors Summer Party and almost didn’t get in. The male door guard said no, but then a lady dressed as a fairy came up and said I could come in if I didn’t wear my shirt all night (yep it was one of “those” parties). So off came the shirt and in I went. I also danced the night away at an EDM club Kater Blau. The most wild was Berghain though – write up Here.

You must go to a Friday or Saturday night party someplace. You must have a Kabab at Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap & you must have Currywurst at Curry 36. Be sure to go to the Eastside Gallery for remembrance of the Berlin Wall. And while “Checkpoint Charlie” is now just an attraction I think it’s important to see. Note the “pipes” you see running thru the City are not where the Wall ran (that is indicated with different bricks in the pavement), they are utilitarian and used for venting gas buildup from construction sites.

Be sure to check out my “Visions of Berlin” photos for more specificity with captions and write ups on all there is to do in Berlin… Plus my TripAdvisor reviews will give detailed insight…

Where Am I And Where Am I Going – A Typical Day In The Life Of The Collector of Experiences…

The Where, How & The What… Usually at night around 20:00 when I get back to my flat (AirBnB, Hotel, Hostel, CouchSurfing, TrustedHouseSitters) after a day of wandering & exploring (I average walking @8km a day), I fire up the laptop, get online via free WiFi (I do carry SkyRoam, but I use that only […]
